10.27.09West Fest 2009On October 26, 2009, tens of thousands showed up at Golden Gate Park in San Francisco for West Fest 2009, a tribute to Woodstock. It was a free concert but the musicians made it seem far from it. There was a plethora of artists that have ties to some of the largest bands of the past 50 years including members of Greg Allman's Band, Jefferson Starship, Mountain, Paul McCartney's Band, relatives of Jimmy Hendrix as well as Sly and the Family Stone.
